About Carl Whitaker

Carl Whitaker

Carl Twofeathers Whitaker originally from Northwestern Ohio, where he was raised on a farm, the fourth of 6 children. Carl attended University and then Technical College in Ohio, and later on moved to East Tennessee where he attended Walter State Community College in Sevierville. Since 1992 Carl has been a Freelance Paralegal in the Sevierville area, having spent over 10 years in Law Enforcement as Police Chief in two police forces in Ohio.

Currently Carl is the founder and Principal Chief of the North American Indian Movement (N.A.I.M.) and is the founder and state director of the Tennessee Volunteer Minuteman Group.

As an Independent Conservative candidate for Tennessee governor Carl does not owe favors to either Republican or Democrat parties. In addition, Carl has no desire to get involved in becoming engulfed in the endless waste of political energy on issues that matter little in the overall health of the state. People are without health care and yet our current political structure straight from Nashville seems more concerned with cutting benefits and repaying political favors rather than doing what is right by the people who put them in office.

Current Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen presided over massive cuts to Tennessee’s Medicaid program, during which time he seemed to relish fighting with advocates for the poor more than the advocates of the cuts. When such a governor makes his fortune in the for-profit health insurance industry at the expense of the people who have serious health insurance problems and has no conscience about it, we have a serious problem that requires a change in the way we do business.

Most importantly, Carl Whitaker is not a politician, rather he considers himself a statesman, promising to speak truth for the citizens of Tennessee and to give them a voice back in their government.
